Each piece is hand finished in America with carefully chosen, sustainable materials.

Adopting the long-established techniques of eyewear artisans located in the foothills of the Italian Alps, they work with expert craftsmen and women to lovingly create each frame.
Los Angeles-based artist turned designer Hannah Byun created Hansel from Basel in 2007 as a way to apply a sense of much-needed zest to everyday legwear. Originally inspired by her childhood nickname, "Hansel", and her fascination with Switzerland ("from Basel"), the collection is forever and always finding inspiration in every nook and cranny of life, form the mundane to the magical.
Cruelty and chemical-free, it was founded by Northern Beaches native Tash Scutts, who drew inspiration from her background in fashion, art and design to devise a product which isn’t only good for you, but which looks good too, thanks to its distinctive packaging design by local artist Bruce Goold.
